I used to be a member of another forum who had a very discreet but none-the-less available link to make a donation to the running of the website through paypal.

Someone is obviously paying for the up keep here and I personally would like to make the odd contribution. What do the powers that be think?

this is a link to the site Im talking about. http://www.studentmidwives.co.uk/phpBB2/index.php

I have seen other forums with the donation links too.

I know Stephen has said doesn't really want to go down the route of having subscriptions, but at the same time he & Nigel can't continue to run the forum at a loss. Sad

Maybe anonymous donations would be the way to go. Wink

yeah, Ive seen them mention that the subscription idea is not the way they want the forum to go, but donations are just that, and on a personal as and when basis.

The reason I mention this, is because the website I mentioned above very occassionally went off line because of lack of funds...I am addicted to this site and would hate for that to happen!

most of us used to belong to a different forum, that went down so we moved here "temporarily" while the other place was sorted out, 2 years later we're still here Very Happy

I think it would be worth adding that the donations could be volunatray and on an as-and-when basis..if the member wanted to.

Definitely happy to do as and when donations, would probably prefer doing them by paypal, as then once in a while I can sell something on eBay with the express intention of paying the money onto here iyswim?

Sorry, I saw your post and thought a Poll would help make things clearer and allow people to vote Sad Embarassed
Not sure how I can add to it though. Hopefully someone with more intelligence will come along and do that.

After reading this, I thought it might be a good idea to run a poll. I've put it in the Lounge.
Good idea this though, anonymous donation.
Very Happy
