Hiya everybody.
Mrs Paulfrompompey and myself are thinking about moving to somewhere on the Scottish mainland, Don't know where yet 'cos it's still in the early stages of discussion.
Can anybody give me a rough Idea of what we could grow up there, and what we can't..we would like a smallholding of sorts y'see, or at least a piece of land where we can grow our own and keep a bit of livestock.
Also, has anybody any tips and info. about smallholdings on the scottish mainland, good website addresses would help.
I understand that the system for purchasing property up there is very different then down here in southern England, more info. would also be welcome.

you could always ,have a look round yourself
daughter has just made a bargin with the farm
they don't pick their fruit themselves nonies been told for a fiver she can pick what she wants
there are apples,plums ,brambles and elderberries |

| have a cow instead..........stone some plums put in a kilner(stererlising) jar cover with celtic water(blended will do) ....put in the dark till xmas .......grownups get to drink the whiskey teenagers get the plums with cream.........kids get sweeties |

sorry jan ,the naughty ducks stole it and then played catch me if you can round the garden ,they like goosegogs as well ,mojo i like sweeties as well (would touch rice paper),i feel a plum jam making coming on  |

well i've been making jam
20 lbs of plums picked this saterday
4 lb of locally grown strawberries turned into jam
so you can grow things here |
