OK well i have a muscovey duck nest and a rouen duck nest to..and every day there is an egg going missing...i was really thinking this is either a magpie crow or rat...please help..it would be really appreciated

not knowing your local fauna ............but in europe the following all steal eggs.....magpie/crow/jackdaw/mink/weasel/stoat/rat/martens.........so there is a lot to choose from

Most probably a rat or a weasel as they will come in the night when the broody's defences are down. Can you protect them in any way, you need small gauge wire to stop weasels they will get through rabbit mesh.

Could it be a hedgehog? Just one egg going at a time is hedgehog trait. Most other predators with go on a spree. Don't know if you can get Canadian hedgehogs Embarassed

No haha not a hedge hog...if there was a hedge hog spotted here it would be in a record book...i found out what it was this morning i went out side to feed all my animals and i found a magpie in our chicken house eating a egg so i trapped it in there and killed it.....so ya now i know what it is

Well done you - one of my least liked birds, along with jays. Seen them decimate a blackbird's nest of at least 4 nestlings.

seems my first guess was correct.................keep an eye open for another one taking over the dead ones terroitery
