I found this on Downsizer.net
Growing Sweet Potatoes
I planted some of my slips today, straight into the potager. I had grown them from 2 large sweet potatoes I bought from the supermarket. I cut them in half, so had four pieces, in a bowl of peat. This has become a very wet and smelly mess, but the slips look good. Will plant some more tomorrow, I ran out of steam. I'm pleased to have found this article, as I hadn't realised that they grow and spread like ivy
What with those and my pumpkins, I may not have to worry about weeds so much |

| Thanks for the info on Sweet Potatoes - interesting link - will have to have a go next year as I presume it is too late for this year. |

Yes...too late now. I will start a few weeks earlier next year too. Still have more slips to plant, waiting for me to feel well, and weather to be favourable..neither matching at the moment.
