Had a day at Mums ( Confused roll on op next week re leg ulcer, please... 'nuff said Sad )

On a positive note she has some visitors.... Mr and Mrs Duck are visiting her garden on a regular basis. No pond or stream.... but they do seem to like hanging about underneath the bird table Razz much to the appreciation of one house bound 80 something year old staring out of the back window!

Any suggestions for healthy treats for ducks?? She puts out any leftover food scraps for the birds - just wondered if there was anything particularly good for ducks (duck novice here Embarassed )

Thanks,

Lisa.... and Gretel Wink

mine eat everything the hens do.
If you ,feed your hens wheat you could give her some of that to feed them.
They love tinned sweetcorn as well

Put a container with water out too - they will clean themselves off in it and shake it around - hilarious to watch!

How much water would they need? Would a washing up bowl or a clean cat litter tray be okay, or should it be bigger or deeper?

I would have thought either of those would be fine ~ I think someone mentioned they just need water and they had buckets littered about for them

I'd read that it needs to be enough for them to submerge their heads in. Looks like Mum's gonna have some fun watching those ducks Laughing

I've got a horse feed bucket. they are about half the height of a bucket and loads wider.
a washing up bowl or litter tray would work great as well
