i set some eggs 21 days ago in the incubator ,and the incubator smells really badly ,there's no sign of life as yet ,i think i found the egg that smells ,only because there was a tiny drop on the outside of it,there was a pinprick hole that was forcing liquid out of it ,will the other eggs hatch the smell is getting worse ,the incubator was cleaned , i would candle but i've blown up the childrens bedside lamps both of them ,tried a pirngle pot and using the ceiling light but i couldn't see that much .do you think they will hatch ,i'll leave them for a couple of extra days ,

| If you have an egg oozing in your incubator I would take it out - now! Rotten eggs can blow up and that will make one heck of a mess to clean up and may affect any eggs hatching. Viable eggs should not have liquid in them at day 21. |

Hi Suz,
Eggs are porous, so any that got liquid on them will possibly be tainted,
But it wouldn't stop the others from hatching if they are viable |

thanks george and everyone else,i think i will give them another couple of days and balance on the bed and candle them ,if i can stand the smell it really is that bad ,i woundered if there are eggs are rotten then would they contaminate the other eggs ,as eggs are porous

Suz, I am so sorry. Clean the incubator really really good and go get yourself a new batch of eggs. Don't give up. |
