|
|
Finally up and running, on the morning of opening had to replace a freezer and managed to get all the meat in about 30 seconds before the first customer arrived!
everything we sell is grown on the farm and is all rare breed or rare breed cross. sheep being; kerry hill, herdwick, black welsh mountain, southdown, and poll dorsets, pigs being; tamworth, saddle back, oxford sandy and black, blue pigs and iron age (1/2 wild boar), cows being; dexter, jersey and angus crosses.
So if any one is in Dorset on their summer hols don't forget to pop in! |

thank you everyone!! so far it has been slow but steady, weekends better than afternoons for obvious reasons. We had two articles in the local magazine and the western gazette and custom definitely picked up! Our worst problem over the easter weekend has been cars full of young children turning up expecting to see all the animals only to be told that its a shop not a petting zoo. However we may isolate the barn next to the shop in the summer for the kids to see the orphan lambs and a ping or two. the hardest part is complying to all the regulations about disinfecting boots etc.
We are 6 miles south of Yeovil, on the A352 to dorchester. hope to see you all soon on your summer holiday! |
