The Government conceded yesterday that it is now increasingly likely that bird flu will arrive in Britain, as the National Farmers' Union (NFU) told members to prepare to take poultry indoors at short notice.

Just read an article in The Guardian online which says that the govt are preparing to announce whether bird flu has reached Britain this afternoon.

I also read on the bbc website that the 9 swans who supposedly had the virus have all tested negative ~ but very strange how they seemed to span the whole of the country!

Folks are so paranoid - every wild bird found dead will be tested.
Thankfully the migration is over now - so fingers crossed the risk should be minimal
