I have read that I need to cook any beans before feeding them to the girls but wondered if this included beansprouts?

Thank you!! I am looking after these lovely ladies for only a week and although I have been told they eat anything I dont want to give them anything that will upset their tummies..... or worse!! They are ex-battery hens so everything is new and wonderful, I gave them yogurt yesterday which was great fun to watch as they covered themselves in it!!

I've been feeding my ex-batts the broad beans that are a bit too big for my taste - zap them in the microwave until they look cooked, let them cool, and down they go! Very Happy

Avocado is the only toxic thing we know of, some things are obviously considered toxic too, but as yet we've not heard of any other fatalities from the other items. (on this forum)

If in doubt ask away Very Happy

if in doubt with any food stuffs .......cook and cool then feed a tiny amount and then wait 2 days before repeating that food........but remember like kids and chocolate........chicken treats should be given in moderation at all times
