Just wondered if goats could eat lilac? its not the flowers but the leaves i mean, thanks Joe |

| No, I would not allow goats to eat lilac, I am sure it has some poison in it. As a general rule, anything in the garden is regarded as poisonous - even things like daffodils! I have seen elderberry listed as poisonous, but we have a tree in the corner of our field and I have caught the goats eating the leaves - and really, we have elderberry wine etc. so they cannot be that toxic. |

mine love elderberry, they eat every bit of it: branches leaves and flowers
-- definitely not poisonous
not sure about lilac though, it's not listed in any of my goat books as poisonous, but then none say it's safe either  |
