| Can you recommend an internet site to buy a new house for 4-6 birds . Is it best to have the house raised above the ground .? Should I construct my own . ( Newbee to this game ) |

3 good reasons for raising a house off the ground
1 - less likely to have rats living underneath
2 - some sheltered for the hens
3 - have you tried kneeling in chicken poo? |

It will all depend on a)how much you have to spend
b) how good you are at DIY
I got a fantastic house from: www.woodenart.org.uk
They are very well built and the gentlemen who make them also deliver and erect them.
If you make you own it is best thst the coop is raised and you want easy cleaning access. Nest boxes that can be open from the outside are also easier. I'll try and post a pic here of one my hubby built when we needed one in a hurry.
Keep smilin

| Mine isnt off the ground, but its stood on concrete paving slabs so unless the rat's got a pneumatic drill there's no way he could get into the house. |

| I pick the Birds up on Friday, the coop is on paving slabs + I also have a metal floor in the bottom of it. If I get into this new hobby, (Reading your comments I probably will) It will be my intention to make something a little larger |
