Hope this isnt a silly question, but Ive pruned a big Lilac shrub and wondering if I can put some of the branches into the run for a few days to give them something to peck at, something to keep them occupied?

Shouldn't hurt them, and they will love to perch on the branches. Do a goodle and see which plants are poisonous for poultry, then you'll know.
