Gave the girls a few prawns last night and their poo smells fishy this morning, will the eggs taste of fish? I guess i could do a prawn omelet or a Chinese dish with them

I know some strong smelling foods can taint the eggs, not sure about prawns though!

I sell my eggs to the public, and for that reason cannot risk any contamination or funny taste, so I never feed them left over household scraps, the most they have is an odd crust of bread. They just have hen feed and as they are free range, grass, and my customers always comment how good tasting our eggs are - not so sure what they would think if I started to sell prawn flavoured eggs though!!!!

We once bought duck eggs in Hong Kong and no one could understand why we wanted them. I soon found out! They feed them on fish and they were the most disgusting tasting eggs that I had ever tasted! LoL Maybe a few prawns won't make a difference but I would be wary! I do however put garlic in their water and have never had a tainting problems with the eggs, maybe it takes a lot over a long period of time to do it!?

I think prawns are fairly mildly flavoured - I doubt it would have any effect on the eggs. I remember as a child refusing to eat my boiled egg as it tasted very peculiar, big strop from Mum as I was always made to eat up, she tasted it and realised it tasted of kipper! Kipper skins had been added to the hen food the day before and boy did that come through!
