| Cockerels are just like humans - some are more aggressive than others. I have kept a pen of six maran cockerels and had no trouble at all and yet I had 4 silkie cockerels who would not stop fighting in spite of being brought up together. They got to a stage, about 4 months old I think and they were off and I had to separate them all. |

I've kept groups of cockerals OK together, but very often one day they suddenly have a disagreement and have to be seperated. For me its usually about 8-10 mths old |

| We had 2 cockerels together once a bantam and a mixed breed standard, they got on really well, even shared the ex batts, then one day the white leghorn cockerel got out of his pen, wandered round to where the 2 cockerels were and killed the bantam and injured the mixed breed cockerel. He had his neck stretched that night, we didnt want to risk him attacking any of the other cockerels. |
