My local pet shop has a two-tier pet/bird house for sale, it looks a bit weathered but is otherwise in good condition. The price is only £30. I'm happy with the construction, etc, but I'm wondering if it would be suitable for two young pekins until they are old enough to join the main group?

My idea is to put the new house in the main pen, take the flooring off the bottom tier and secure the area with chicken wire. This would let them see/be seen but not be get at-able by the grown ups at the same time having their own 'run within a run'

Yes? No?

Confused

Er - this will be a big surprise - yes!! Went into town this morning to pay for it, they're delivering either this afternoon or tomorrow.

I'm also well on the way to having two little pekins to live in it........... Just waiting for the breeder to confirm they're both hens! (Only four weeks old at the moment)

Ooo, this chicken keeping lark's so addictive......... Wink Laughing Very Happy
