|

I have 12 Pekin eggs in the incy as most of you may know.. anyway i just want to make sure ive got everything for their arrival next wed.
My list is..
- Brooder box (made my own 4x2ft wooden box with chicken wire lid)
- Feeder
- Drinker
- Chick crumbs/growers pellets once there older
- Heat lamp (borrowing from friend)
-Corrugated cardboard? for floor covering, is this the best thing to use to stop there legs splaying?
Does that sound good? the only thing im not to sure about is what to use on the floor.. ?
Thanks, Richard

| I used that rubber non slip matting as cheap to buy and easy to clean but mine were only inside for a day before being placed with a broody |

| rubber non slip matting is good for the first couple of days to prevent spalyed legs but gets mucky quick once they start pooing - corrugated cardboard is good after that with a layer of shavings on top - they will peck at and eat the shavings which scared the hell out of me the first few times but it doesn't seem to do them any harm and I have never had a chick get an impacted crop from it, which was my big concern. |

| the advantage of corrigated cardboard is when its filthy you can bin it.........i use it with no other covering or nonslip mat(but that needs washing every day).................also sandsheets for budgies with a small amount of chick crumbs on it the first couple of days gets chicks eating |
