Hi really need some advice , was given some Johnsons Pigeon Insect Spray Extra to use on my chickens for mites lice etc . After putting it on them i suddenly realised it said on the bottle not to be used on pigeons for human consumption. I got really worried about this as we eat the chicken eggs so i emailed johnsons and they i should not eat the eggs for several weeks. Does this sound right ? not sure why the man sold it to me if thats so it contains active ingredient Permethrin 25/75 0.5%. Please could anyone tell me if they have used it and if it is safe to eat the eggs.
Thanks Val

I have used it, because it said nothing about egg withdrawl, just consumption of the meat I assumed the eggs would be fine - I don't think I've had any side effects... |

| Don't worry, that is the same strength as all the mite/lice powders sold for poultry, so I suspect they don't know the answer but are covering themselves. Carry on eating the eggs. |
