Hi all my first time here, so forgive me if this is answered elsewhere,(I have looked)
We have a chicken which was broody so my wife decided to see if she would hatch some duck eggs.
However, it wasn't successful but now the chicken which sat for a while seems to have lost her balance.
Any help much appreciated.

| did she get up to feed every day? could she be dehydrated? Often hens that sit can lose condition - how long has she been off the nest? |

don't know if she got up to feed, but she has definitely drunk and fed since. She's been off the nest for about 5 days now, we took the eggs off her.
It's like she's drunk! she walks, but in a lurching way and then collapses down again.
Apart from that she seems quite alert. |

how does her abdomen feel? Soft or full?
maybe her legs are weak...
Have you checked the nest area for signs of red mite, and checked her for lice? |
