Well that's it...at long last I have succumbed to the temptation.
We had visitors over the last few days and one of them is a farmer from E Sussex.
I told him one of my chooks was broody (just) and he arrived at my house this afternoon with 6 Buff Orpington hatching eggs!
The eggs are now disinfected and sitting under a very contented hen.
Not only that....I was at our local auction (general sales) yesterday and left an absentee bid on a poultry hut and run.
I later found that my bid had won the lot!....perfect little house for the broody and eggs....just got to get it here now. |

| It's all downhill from here - I just bought myself a small incubator - the school one keeps being in use when I want it! |
