Hi all, looking for some advice as new to chicken keeping. I have a smallish coop for 4 chickens and was wondering whether shredded paper from my office is suitable to use in the bottom of the coop? Any thoughts ......

You can use that but some people find it more annoying than useful. Rolling Eyes

It tends to get stuck to eggs, can get wrapped round chickens legs (or so I have heard) & will blow out of the coop in the wind when you open the door.

Apart from that, it's free & easily available so I'd give it a try & see how you get on. Wink

Thanks for the speedy advice - We create bags and bags of shredding so I love the idea of putting it to some good use - and free! I will give it a try and see if it drives us mad! Laughing

We used to do that, but found it wasn't very affective.
