I was looking into heptvac P however I heard that in sheep there's been a few problems, I really don't want to leave lambs open to pulpy kidney etc however not sure whether its worth the risk has anyone had any problems with barren etc? and does anyone know of a similar vaccines.
Other thing is got asked about footrot vaccines does anyone use them or have any advice? college work |

It's got problems with barren though was out at a farm who has stopped using it because when I was out vaccinating for him 2 weeks back he send he'd decided not to use it now because he'd seem a rise in barren in his shearlings. your meant to do it a few weeks before and it'll give 6 weeks after lambing for the young, sorry research.

i suppose it would depend on your land and livestock disease status, and livestock rotation routine
although listeria could still be a problem |

Only got 3 ewes, their mothers were vaccinated with Heptivac P Plus and they were vaccinated as lambs and have since had lambs of thier own. I inject them 4-6 weeks before lambing, they are in lamb again at the moment - due in a couple of weeks. I have a friend who vaccinates all his Herdwicks every year without problem.
