| Had to spray 'bordeaux' mixture on potatoes and tomatoes yesterday. Developed blight really quickly. Hope all the rain today doesn't wash the treatment off. Will have to redo tomorrow probably. That's the problem with gardening - you are always battling against something, even if it as simple as weeds. |

we lost 3 consecuctive years potatoe crops to blight, I presume because it was so damp, so havent tried since. good luck  |

I just happen to have a copy of The organic way infront on me and remembered it had a double page on spuds.
Regarding Blight it say's if blight is a problem it may be best not to grow maincrop potatoes at all, or choose blight resistant types like the new Sarpo varieties. Earlies are harvested before the main blight season, so if it is a known problem in your area, just grow earlies.
Maybe thats a solution |

I've grown potatoes for years and never got blight. Think its something to do with altitude - I'm at 800ft. We do have problems with frost though and have to cover them.

| tomatoes have all got blight ...........within 2 days all look half dead..............have to buy toms this year i fear |
