I'm sorry no I haven't I normally keep Cochins, but am new to faverolles. But I must say I am taken with their mellow behaviour and friendly disposition. Here are a couple of male Salmon Favvies.

The cocks are stunning looking , and i love the softness of the hens .
At what age can you tell the sex of the chicks ? |

Very early, as you can see the cock birds are much darker than the hens. Having said that Last year I hatched all girls. So was in a quandry as to sexing them. I was trying to pick out the darker larger birds. It wasn't until Kittoch came to my rescue with some advice I found it was advisable to look in my Poultry book to show the obvious difference!!

I think it's something in the water you give your chooks Tim, it dosen't matter what breed you keep from favies to orpingtons the end result is the same FABULOUS. Next time I come visiting I'm bringing a lorry. That way I'll fit in all the chooks and the house as well!
The dogs can come for a sabbatical of approx two years. Either that or give me the house and you move into the des res chicken hut.
Not that I am in slightest bit envious of course, just mad with jelousy. |

| What beautiful sallys, I have two that are 6 weeks old now, they are looking a bit scruffy at the mo but the feathers are coming through nicely. They are supposed to be salmon but I don't think they are. I will try and put some photos on soon but to describe them I'd say white with dark tips. Please don't say they are cocks! ha ha. I have looked on the net and seen cocks at the same sort of age and they are so much darker than mine. I really hope they're not cocks anyway. When the photos are on you can let me know what you think. |

I was wondering if the person who put the pictures on could sell me some hatching eggs. I am in the US but will pay for shipping. Email me at showpoultry @ yahoo . com (remove spaces). Also does anyone know who the BEST BEST BEST Faverolle breeder is in the UK.
Thanks
