yep ,the fencing was ok as long as it wasn't pulled down by children and unfortunatly they where the children of the lady who owned the croft ,we put a stile up so the children could still get to the woods but they broke it
all though the winter ,the sheep hadn't escaped ,but with the children breaking the fence every night every morning we where getting them out of next doors posh garden or off the road ,after 3 weeks every morning rounding the sheep up ,they had also taken a dog in the feild that worried them ,talking to the mum, didn't help ,we decided we didn't want anyone hurt (thinking of cars hitting sheep),she wasn't bothered any more her grass is short and tidy now ,so for the time being cows are not going to happen ,deb took the ewes and the wethers , the wethers are going in our freezer ,we will just raise a couple of caddy lambs for the freezer ,any ewes we raise is on the understanding that people take them back ,we have enough for that ,it was sad giving up that much land but the animals welfare comes first ,one day,in a couple of years things will come together ,i can wait i waited 20 years to move back to the country ,i can wait to have my cows ,and then it'll be shetlands or highlands |

Those calves are just adorable!
Suz, those naughty children will grow up soon & hopefully their days of breaking fences will pass. Then you can have your cows back. |

Sorry about your croft suz. Its bad enough keeping sheep in with good fences without children helping them out.
Hang in there, you'll probably finish up with a 1000acres |

| Sorry to hear about the loss of the use of the croft Suz. I hope another good deal comes along soon - and knowing you, you are keeping your ear to the ground! |
