nonies got 8 new cows today
one of them is huge 5.3 feet tall at the shoulder and 7.4 long ,to big for the cattle crush ,and just with 1 inch to spare to get into the milking parlour

my aberdeen angus cow with twin bull calves (the bigger calf meets all the breed standards & has been registered so we can use him as our bull) arrive on either tuesday boat or thursday boat. I AM EXCITED !! Really annoyed I cant go out with the boat to get them now as hubby is on the crew.

they are a little worried that with her conformation there might be problems ,she is pure holsten ,the last bull we had has was an aberdeen angus killed by a lightening strike Shocked

,we now have archy who is a pure limsosine ,quite a nice boy ,and he roars Shocked

,but nonie and i where in the pen with the dry cows yesterday ,there is 30 to calve ,and he looks you straight in the eye,by we i mean the farm as they are not mine but go down at least every week to pick nonie up from work or if there is a calving ,or sheep to move and walk around and help if i can ,have a cuddle Cool

ps did you get the agri cencess as i didn't

no, ours hasnt come through yet at all, going to phone them up & ask where it is as i know they can get a bit bitchy if you dont send it back on time.

the bull who was hit by lightening was a hunny and a great character and a real gentleman, quite often the blokes would sit with him in his pen. Archy is a bonnie type and standard but the old bull was so nice not the aberdeen angus but simmental who always gave good calves the bull after was henry a very big aberdeen angus with stunning calves but not good with women. unfortunely theres no calves as everything we've breed this year has been sold like gold dust.archy Needs a bit of time to mature but he will do the job, my boss has all 3 of his milkers on call to calve in a months time because although we have 30 in the dry cows we have had to leave some in with the milkers as there isn't enough room in the dry cows section yet, another 10 or so. by the way the cow is over 7 foot 6 long and the first time calver is a sweet heart, with a kick all be it [only during milking]
