| It will happen again at some point, inevitable really, but I am sure that this will be within intensely farmed flocks. Health and weakness to the virus must be an issue, and as long as we keep our animals healthy and happy, I feel there to be no reason they would be susceptible. |

the problem is that any (holding )with an infectous illness on it has a lock down for 28 days ,it doesn't matter that it is not a problem for humans (foot and mouth springs to mind ),the clean up should be done by defra
not bm employees ,if you had it on your place ,you are not even allowed to go out to get the shopping ,or the children can not go to school ,post has to left outside ,nobody apart from svs and defra is allowed off ,the plant is on the premises so there for should be shut down for 28 days ,not talking about the scary stuff ,i'm talking about defra rules
this whole thing stinks i'm afraid ,the employees could have had a month off paid i'm sure he can afford it ,i think more damage is being done to the poultry industry ,by bm handling and defra's handling of the situation than it breaking out at all ,the ammount of questions i've been asked by customers about it today ,most of them quite happy with eatting chickens and eggs ,but cross about bm ,these are not chicken keepers just ordinary shoppers ,the only thing i can think is that the processing plant is not on the area that the holding is registered for ,luckily so far there have been no more positives so hopefull before long ,everyone can go back to normal |

Well, I cooked a curry tonight, a nice turkey korma!Done all my own spices and sauce, the only way in my big bellied opinion!
Why Turkey? For some apparent reason it's on special offer at the moment down here, can't think why, so I brought some (not BM produce though).
It was lovely, I have also purchased a box of 'balmy' tissues and some lem-sips, just in case , but no sneezes yet!!
Atiscchhooo...oh no...! |

Me and OH went for our flu jab's today, the kids go tomorrow - after getting a letter from public health on saturday
talking to the GP about AI, she thought we'd been really lucky in the UK so far and could see it coming (without BM trying his best to bring it here)
Even said given the numbers of migratory birds we get here (on the island) she was surprised it hadn't got here before |

| Hmmm... makes you think that what the news was saying - truck routes more likely than migratory routes... |
