| Does anybody else do a bi-annual headcount of their birds? I forgot yesterday (visitors) so did it this morning - 170 plus 10 guinea fowl. Oh dear, see what happens when "it seems a pity not to fill the incubator". The first of the bantam marans eggs have gone in for fertility testing this morning (before I did the sums). |

I've only got 10 fingers & I refuse to expose my toes in the Winter, so I don't bother!!
AR says we have 28, so I suppose he's right. |

Leaving aside those for which I have no matching males, the tally is LF & Bantam Fayoumi, Marans bantams, Friesian Fowl, Nankins, Welbars, Cream Legbars, White Wyandotte bantams and Brown leghorn bantams There's a large and varied selection of bantams of varying purity; most of the LF are pure breed or hybrids, but I buy in eggs of the former so that I don't have to keep LF cocks.
Realising I'd increased the flock by more than 20%, I've even remembered to notify defra, so for the next ten minutes or so I can feel virtuous! |

So true, she does need friends (a mirror and the 'roo are her only friends now!)...and just one friend would be settign her up to be alone again if anythign happened to that one so I need a pair..hey for an extra few €'s I may as well get the trio
Ps.I fully blame you people for this... |

| Of course you need a trio, a drake needs plenty of wives and then you can breed your own flock. |
