We live on a headland overlooking Morecambe bay it is very mild climate but windy, we were given some green mesh and we have fastened it to the chainlink fence with cable ties it has made a big difference except for such as runner beans that are above fence height, if it was our own and we were staying longer I would be putting a higher fence to protect the veggies !

Traditionally, in the Hebrides, people constructed dry stone walled gardens to protect their veggies from the ferocious winds - called a planticrue. Our croft in Bernera has one next to the derelict house. Unfortunately, no secret plum or apples trees. Crying or Very sad
