I wouldn't have thought so... but they were bled (not unlike the Masai people in Africa do). I presume the blood went into black puddings and such like...

I cant say for sure but thinking about it, I think they would have used what they had but they dont have a very big frame do they.

Im off to a big Highland cattle sale this morning Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy [can you tell i'm looking forward to it] lovely cattle, nearly all black with a lot of Rigg blood lines [Does nonie know about the wonderful old Rigg fold] and a lot of Highland breeders will be there so i'll ask.

I'm not going to buy anything, just have a look and see who else is buying. The 3 lots I have marked in the catalogue are just for reference Twisted Evil

Sorry, when I got to the sale everyone was so wrapped up in the cattle for sale we didn't get a chance to talk about anything else.

I didn't buy anything Sad . The older cows being to old and the young stock making loads of money cause the big boys wanted the old blood lines. A friend of mine bought several very nice lots so I might be in with a chance or two for a calf from one of them in a year or so's time.

I did buy a couple of heifer calves from the vendor a few years ago so I do have some of the blood lines already, so was pleased they sold so well Very Happy

I think quite a few of them have gone back to Scotland.

It was sad to see their wonderful old bull in the ring go for peanuts Crying or Very sad

Another day out today Very Happy . Off now to Holsworthy show Very Happy
