The last two eggs that my Croad Langshan has laid have had blood on them
The first one was just a little smudge and to be honest I had thought it was poop But the next one had 'proper' blood on it
I can't see that it's coccidiosis - I've treated the entire flock for that within the last month. However, I'm dosing them again, to be on the safe side.
She does make an almighty fuss whenever she lays an egg, but I'd always put it down to showing off She's been laying for about 6 months now with no real problems, although she did go through a phase of laying shell-less eggs (or ones with very weak shells). The egg that had the most blood on it was the first in ages that had a proper shell.
They've been wormed, all the other birds are fine and they've got very clean living conditions. She's eating and pooping just fine
The only other thing I can think of is that there's a problem with her passing the eggs out, similar to an anal fissure in humans.
Any ideas??? |

| Just think ouch. Thing will improveas she's only just decided that eggs should have shells on and is probably regretting the decision. |

It happens sometimes, but as Henwife says, it will improve. |

Today's egg had a perfect shell and was accompanied by a LOT of noise but no blood.
So hopefully Henwife's theory is correct
And yes, OUCH indeed |
