My early potatoes are only out of the ground 6-8inches but have got flower heads showing. Should I pick these off?

Jan, have you been building up the earth around them for a while?
I have only grown potatoes once, didn't knock the flowers off and I was happy with the result. Cannot remember or say whether it was a bumper crop?
Looking forward to seeing how my dustbin ones are Very Happy

I've never taken the flowers off potatoes. Don't think I've ever heard of it being recommended. I'd just enjoy them where they are - I think some are quite pretty...

ITs only that the plants are still so small. I think they've only been in 6 weeks. I've never had them start flowering so early.
