Depends on the size/breed of the cow and the height of the fence . If I was you I would put a single strand of white tape a couple of inches above the fence and put the energiser on it's highest setting. some bright spark (cow) is bound to touch it with its nose and the others will get the message. It works with mine . |

| That should work for you but it is a pitty you are having to do it as it is your neighbours responsibilty to keep them contained. Aberdeen angus's arn't much fun when they start to throw their weight around. |

Too right. I suppose you have told the neighbour what is happening. Are they short of grass, is there a reason you can see why they are jumping over the fence.
We use electric fencing around and across fields without trouble so it probably would help, but really its your nieghbours problem.
What a bl***y pain for you |

He knows We don't get on at all.
reckons it's my fault, now I know my fence isn't the greatest in the world but it keeps my horses in
reckon he met his match yesterday though
they got through mine into the bungalow at the back of me, Belag has a really bad temper He spent yesterday morning repairing my back fence that doesn't even border his field
I wouldn't mind so much if I didn't get the blame |

Why are you getting the blame? Surely they realise they're not your cows! B****y neighbours! |

Serious tho, how does the six day rule apply in this situation or doesn't it up there. |

he doesn't live there just uses the croft, thinks he rules the village as he's the one with all the money
we've never got on, it's got to the stage now that if he has another go I'm going to let loose - I have a foul temper but it does'nt go very often |

never thought of that Jan
wonder what he'd do if I mentioned they'd be stuck here for 6 days
mind you they don't bother with rules and regs up here as long as they have the proper tags when they go to market
will get OH to mention it |

P.S. according to HIM the fence is mine so I have to pay to repair it
found out last night that every other croft he has (loads of them) he has gone halves with the neighbours
He just seems to have this thing about me, cos other people tell me he's nice and can't understand why I call him all the things I do |

| In theory once the cattle have been on your land you cant move or sell anything for 6 days. If you give them back to him, he cant move anything off his farm either. |
