Wow, what memories that brings back, they're gorgeous.
My one and only Shetland laid an egg today after her near death experience. We can't eat her eggs for another 10 days or so. So George, what colour eggs will the hens lay, if they're crosses??

That is a very good question,

I'm still fascinated by the fact that the first 4 were all Light Sussex eggs, yet 2 are yellow and 2 brown, also notice that the legs colours match, so I would assume the yellow have a stronger LS strain. I'll let you know about October time Smile

obviously the 2 true shetlands should lay green (providing they're not boys of course Wink )

Middle two look like pure Shetlands, bottom two look like mixed ??
