well, she was sitting on some black rock eggs and some of wyandotte eggs that may have been laid by her & my other 2 dotties. I'm pretty confident none of the black rock eggs hatched (shame coz they would b cross with a buff orp) so that will give me 2 bantie dotties!!
any ideas on sex of these? is it possible to tell by feather colouring or do i have to wait and see???
all ok btw this a.m onoe chick sitting in the food, the other firmly under mum!!! |

all good still so far, though today when got home noticed a little blood on the shavings near to where mum had been... the chicks were all moving about fine, no marks on them, but i saw a little blood on mums bottie.... not sure what thats about? its hardly much, but i suppose i should keep my eye on it. have picked her up cant see anything obvious, though she is a wriggler...
oh, one other question, mum seems to prefer eating chick crumbs rather than her own food.... is that bad?
thanks guys!! |

| And maybe "Mum" knows she needs a bit more building up now? All that looking after babies takes its toll... |
