| can anyone tell me when i can let the mother and baby chick out onto grass, they are in a heated shed at moment, at night anyway,but they will be going out into a ark and run at that time. |

| If the chicks are with their mum, then you can get them used to being outside when the weather allows. A bit of sunshine would be ideal, but so long as it not raining or too cold, they should be okay with mum. I put a plastic cover over the mesh sides of my ark to keep the rain off when I last hatched, but if you do this be careful when the sun shines as it can get too hot! Enjoy! |

I have always let my broody mums take their babies out as soon as they wanted. She will instinctively cover them to keep them warm. I covered their run with plastic the same as Dixie Chicks to protect them from the worst of the waether.
Broody chicks usually grow up very strong |

| chicks raised by a broody usually are much healthier than incub raised ones but dont rush them mum knows best |

| thanks for your replies to "BABY CHICKS" This weekend is going to be nice, so it will work out nicely. yes the mother is dying to get out, but i didnt want to rush it , especially with the weather conditions. |
