A local chap has come and taken the pekin pair, plus several others of my flock.
This morning I had 9 chickens, this evening I have only three!
Ratchet (Welsummer) Bracket (Bantam Black Wyandotte) and Henny (Shetland).
Darren had lost his flock to fox attack, and he and his twin 4 (nearly 5 year old) twins and daughter of 8 came round and took the chickens home.
It looks very empty down in the coop and will be weird, since I collected 7 eggs today, and we've been overun with them. We should be able to keep up with eggs now.
So, sorry Debs, Blue has gone and Muppet too, sorry Knobby.

I'm pleased you've found a home for all of them together NannyP, but feel for how you must be feeling this evening. Do you have homes planned for the remaining 3?

No homes for the remaining three, and I would like to keep them until we have to rehome.
Feel sad, but pleased, as I was a little concerned that with A1 scares, it would become more difficult.

Yes, I understand what you mean. It's sad the people who rehomed your girls had to have a fox attack but at least it helped someone else. Take care

It must feel really strange for you Nannyp - but it is good news that 6 of them have found a good home together.
Fingers crossed that your remaining three get rehomed together when the time comes.

Yes, plenty of eggs from Henny, although I dropped and cracked hers today Rolling Eyes

7 eggs today, most ever, first and last time though.
Gave 6 of them to Darren, and they were all but one from hens he has taken.
Very Happy

I feel bad about Muppet, Knobby didn't reply to my question in the Mart, nor to an email.

That's sad that he didn't reply, but you had to find homes for them NannyP ~ don't beat yourself up over it. At least she has gone with her friends and won't be the midget in a gang of big girls

Its great that you've found them a loving home together. I'm sure you won't have a problem with the remaining three when the time comes. It must seem very empty now but at least you know they will be well looked after in their new home.

Oh no, poor Knobby's been in hospital and has missed Muppet Shocked

The hens seem very odd, as they are all hens who never really mixed with each other, so they wander around the garden some distance apart from each other.
Rachett and Henny did look like they were having a conflab about what had happened though Very Happy

I reckon if you really want Muppet Knob's, I could get her back when you're ready??
