apparently clay soil holds nutrients in much better. I am on heavy clay here and can grow most things but I do condition the soil by digging lots of compost in to make it easier to dig. |

Thanks for the perfect gift idea - i just bought a potmaker for my mum's birthday! Sure she'll let me use it too....
We're on clay and have the same problem with seedlings. I seem to have a problem with most 'rooty' things - carrots, radishes and beetroot. They just don't get that big! For peas and beans though, v good! Lots of humus is a must though. |
