I had to dispatch one of my chicks today
Really hated doing it but she wouldn't of lasted much longer.
She was 5 weeks old and had just stopped eating and was fading away. I tried everything I could think of and she just wouldn't pick up
I hate doing hens and roos but chicks are loads worse, probably because they haven't had a life
Had to get that off my chest

debs, that's a real shame, but at least you've done the humane thing and stopped it's suffering. It's not nice with the little ones, but at least it's in the best place now.

I am so sorry and think you are really brave. I can't imagine how horrible it must have been and the chick is lucky to have had you to do the right thing Sad

thanks everyone
I've 'done' a couple of tiny chicks before but only ones that have never been right.
She was gorgeous as well, the prettiest of the lot.
