She has plenty of fresh veg every day and there is lots of wood etc for her to chew, so i think i can rule that out. i don't think it is a boredom issue as she has plenty to do it is a large indoor area. the problem is with the one hen i really do think it is love i am going to try the nasty taste and hope that stops it, as i really don't want to cage her, she has never been caged and i think that would be cruel to her. so the nasty stuff it is and fingers crossed |

| We had exactly the same problem. The rabbit used to try and mount one or both of our chicken's.He would run around them in a circle then sniff there rears, and chew there feather's.We had the rabbit castrated, problem gone.He is still friendly with the hen's and will get into the coup from time to time, and the hen's will sometime's lay in the rabbit hutch. But the feather's are fine, and the rabbit's much less agressive. |

I had a rabbit that liked to chase and mate the hens but he didn't chew feathers and the hens didn't seem to mind - they ended up crouching for him like a cockerel!
Doesn't sound like your rabbit is bored - just over enthusiastically grooming her friend! perhaps she's getting broody? Going over the top looking after this hen instead of some babies? |
