They are adorable................did they find any tasty morsels or worms on their first trip out?

Mum picked them out a thin worm, offered it to them twice and then gave in and ate it herself.
They've been out again this afternoon for a while and enjoyed a longer adventure. Mum very protective which is good Laughing

that's lovely, the ideal way to spend the afternoon, sat/lay on a lounger having a nice glass of milk and watching the chicks and their mum do their thing

Well, yes Summayah, not sure I was relaxed though, although she really doesn't need me and as they grow I will relax more. I just wish I could pick them up more, but they go running off screaming to Mum when I try to. Now if they'd been Incubator chicks, I'd be their Mum! Laughing

Gave mine a couple of worms tonight, you should have seen them go mad for them, although, I think knobby ate them all in the end as he's faster at moving Wink

Chicken Palace said, "Love the one on the log! "

The Log is a 400 year old oak lintel, removed from the front of our cottage recently. I thought it'd be nice for the girls to sit and take an early afternoon nap in the sun. It fascinates me to know that it has been in the wall of our home for 400 years and some people suggest that the oak beams and lintels in these old places are from wood taken from ships!! So, I have no idea how old it is, it could be 800 years old if you include it's time as a live piece of tree Shocked

NannyP did you let your hen and chicks out with the other hens or in a different area. I have let mine out in the front garden but I'm not sure wether or not to allow any of the other hens to be about or when to mix them Question
