teeheehee. No it is definately a chicken. Well atrio of chickens to be precise only it seems I might be getting 3 trios. I know I am getting a trio of his blue line but I know he now only keeps one other colour for which he is famous but I doubt whether he'd sell me a trio of those.
We will all know this afternoon and I promise photos later on too if it isn't dark by the time I have them settled.
I had a lovely morning yesterday cleaning out 2 of the parrot avieries because they will be kept indoors. And I cleaned all the smaller cages and shuffled some bantams about to make room.
I'm so excited .

Thought I'd better post and satisfy your curiosity before I am banned for tearing someone off a strip, What I got was 2 trios of top show quality blue leghorn bantams from John Martin as pictured in this month's fancy fowl. 2 hens are a few years old and both are plate winners, the other trio are all related to these 2 females. Mr Martin told me as I left that I am one of only a few people who now hold the last of his blue breeding in my hands. I wil endevour to prove myself worthy by taking this year to learn all I can about the breeds conformation and go to a few shows (without entering them) to learn the ropes and be guided by those with knowledge. Then next year god willing Mr Martin will grade what I bred this year and help me decide what to show.
If I can still post tomorrow I will post pictures of these beautiful birds.

1/ trio number 1

2/trio number 1

3'Beep' the meyers parrot who shares his aviary with trio number 1 and is fed up that I always take photos of the chickens and not him Smile

4/ trio number 2 with the plate winning hen in picture. The other one was sitting on my back as I bent down to take the photo!

It's a "not right now". Later in the year when I've hatched what I need I will have some spare. Watch this space.
