This is an award for service well above and beyond the call of duty,
As Stephen posted here we had a break in at our shed last night and the 'little dears' stole the energiser for the electric fence.
We spent most of this morning phoning trying to find someone who could supply a replacement.
Fortunately for us Martyn at Keepers Lodge Poultry near Litchfield answered the phone. Despite it being New Years day and a Sunday, and him going out later. He agreed to open up and supply us with the much needed energiser at a price that was exactly the same as some of the big internet suppliers.
What more can I say.
They have a fantastic selection of Meadowsweet Hybrids. Poultry Housing from Forshams and Littleacre. All the usual feeders drinkers, pellets etc. And of course Renco Hotline energisers.
I don't know what more I can do to recommend the service I received from Martyn, |

| That is very good service indeed. Since the little toerags might be back for the new energiser it might be a good idea to let a big dog sleep in the shed overnight for a while. |

| It's very tempting to wire the padlock up to the electric fence... |

Shame you aren't closer cos I would have lent you my Kip. He is totally and 100% safe with chickens but hates humans so anyone going in at night will be badly bitten.
The other week I went to collect 2 trios of birds from a friend. On the way home the 2 cockerels started fighting through the bars of the cages so I pulled over, hoiked out one of the cockerels and dumped him on the back seat next to Kip. He spent the next hour sitting there next to the dog perfectly at ease lol |

I like your thinking....
Obviously this would only be by accident, of course |

Fenwoman, thanks for the offer. I'd like to see their faces As for the wiring... it would have to be an accident; I'd guess it'd be illegal otherwise, I bet the police would treat it as a stun gun.
Oh, they (the police) called yesterday on the phone, after reporting it on Sunday. They are going to send someone out sometime this week. Probably. And they were most upset that we'd disturbed the crime scene...!
