|
|
Hi everyone
When I was first looking into keeping chickens, it was hard finding out where local suppliers where. The big shops are on the web in google, but the small guys aren't.
So I've created a website for beginners which I hope will eventually list all the suppliers - www.keepchickens.info.
If you are a supplier you can register free or pay for a bigger/more prominent ad cheaply. There is a £10 discount for users of this forum. The code is "pkisgreat"
Please comment on the site and tell me about any errors.
I'll be adding more breeds when I've taken photos etc.
Thanks |

Wow,
Nice site, easy to navigate, and I'm sure it will be a great help to the novice chicken keeper
Well done |

Looks good.
DO I recognise that very nice high quality but exceptionally good value feeder you so show a photo of? |

Thank you.
It is very similar to the one on your site, but I got the image elsewhere!!!
Thanks for being the first advertiser too. |

I'm toying with the idea of getting chickens - get each of my 3 kids to pick one, building a coop/run etc and would just like to say THANKS! Lots of useful info and definitely helping me to make my mind up!
Cheers

| You do of course realise it's very addictive don't you, Mick? I started with 4 and in no time at all had 22 ! So just make sure the house and run are plenty big enough unless you fancy building another house a month or so down the line! |

As summayah says - very addictive! Make sure you build the coop with plenty of growing room! |

Well, not sure how addicted I'm gonna be!?
but, I have an area of 6foot depth by 15foot width and 6foot high which will house a chicken coop and will be completely enclosed in chicken wire. During the day they will be allowed out into the small garden - just for some different stimulation really?
I think this area is too big (for 3 chickens) but I'm not prepared to get chickens if they won't be happy!
Still gotta make it all but I'm getting closer to firm plans and ideas. Won't be sorted for a few months yet but you can certainly expect some questions until then
Thanks for the welcome into the forum...there's even a 'welcome Mick' thread! How cool is that! LOL!! |

Yep! I too got addicted.
Started with four - currently got 18 and am scheming about hatching some eggs!!
Never in this world thought Chicken keeping would be SO special!
I visited my girls 3 times on Christmas day (outside of the normal feeding a closing up times!) And even got them an iceberg lettuce for a Christmas Present!!!! LOL
Welcome to the mad world Mick!
Debs
~P.S My three year olds love them too!!! And shout Goosey Goosey as they throw them their bread! |
