Does anyone else keep Dexters or am I the only one? We started our own smallholding a year ago after being fed up with the rubbish sold by supermarkets close to us and having got depressed with our empty veg patch (we used to grow most of our veg but work commitments sort of took over). Anyway we decided to change things and I gave up my job (end of August)and have got the veg patch ready to go in the new year, increased our chickens bred and freezer packed two pigs - yum and have four Dexters - two now in calf a steer for the freezer in April (well half the other half will be sold) and our sons heifer who can't decide what she is doing!! They are extremely friendly little cows with great characters. I have rabbited on enough now but if anyone else keeps them it would be great to hear from you. |

Here we go - lets hope this works.
Not a very good one but once heads are in buckets - which is the only time they stand still - it is hard to get them out. For a comparison my son is 5ft 6in tall. The cows are 20 months old and won't grow much more now. |
