| I was just watching "Landward", the Scottish version of "Country File" on the BBC and there was an item about the Slow Food Movement. I looked it up on the BBC's website and here's the Slow Food's linkwww.slowfood.com Anybody here a part of this? |

My friend who owns the (as in the only one) Deli in Derby is part of our local group. We keep getting invited to the social evenings etc. just haven't gotten round to going yet |

Cant blame people wanting proper food -me included-instead of the muck served up at the usual fast food joints and in the supermarkets.
Its a start I suppose, buying stuff from your local producer is good too and can be found at www.bigbarn.co.uk

we have one here too but they only deliver to Leicestershire. We live in Leicestershire but they won't deliver to us as we have a Derbyshire post code.
Anyone would think they didn't want the business. |

I was involved with Slow Food UK's founding congress in August. They're a splendid organisation I thoroughly recommend to everyone.
I have two spare copies of their useful book "The Slow Food Companion" available free to anyone interested. Just let me know.
