My currrent house looks like this - It's home to about 18 birds although I let them out to roam

This was the design I used before

This is a development of my first house. It will house 3 hens ok.

This is my new house. When it's finished it will take about 35 birds. I might change the roof to an apex one. Once I've finished the build and I'm happy with the layout I'll change the plywood for t&g

Here is a standard ark which I make. I use featheredge board. Inside the house there is no perch and the nestbox is a large cat litter tray. it is 8 feet long in total and 3 feet wide, the house is 20 inches long. This houses 3 small bantams.
I do a larger one for larger bantams.

I am going to modify the design slightly. I built a large one and stapled featheredge right across one side meaning it is way more sheltered from the lements, shade in sunny weather and keeps the run dry in wet weather.
I have a hinged triangular door at each end.

crikey no. I used to but it ended up that I was spending all my time making coops and knackering myself up with it.

Although I will be selling my forsham ark soon,( when the replacements fully erected) for the winter I have placed a piece of clear carpet protecter on the side mesh to give wind and rain protection. It works very well and was very cheep it replaced a mini version of a fence panel which plunged one end of the ark into darkness.
