I didn't count the first 12 hours. Mine began to hatch on Day20, from my calculations, they were pipping when I got home at 1600hrs. I had put them beneath broody at 1800hrs 21 days before, so I culd have counted from that moment. Maybe a broody gets it more right than an Incubator. I know from even buying my chickens in at POL and then waiting for that first egg the excitment was second to none!....but if I had had the hens from eggs and hatched and watched them grow well that first egg will be fab!
