There are some pics of Summayah's girls in their new, temporary, accommodation in my gallery - last page.
Here's one ...

They all seem to be settling in nicely and chatting through the wire to my girls. I guess there will be a bit of argy bargy when they all go in together at first. They all start chatting like crazy every time I go out there.

The question is, should I put them all together tonight in the same house or should I keep the new girls separate for a few days?

Think I'd give it a couple of days also. That's what we plan to do when we collect the bantams next Sunday. Smile

Now, now boys, we all know you're all just big softys at heart, even though you like to show your teeth Shocked Very Happy

Anyway, getting back to the chooks - as I find myself with a surfeit of chook accommodation, I guess they may as well use it for a few days.

Hopefully my neighbour will finish his fence at the weekend and then I can let them all out in the garden. At the moment we have four panels of six foot fence and the rest is open to the world so can't let them out yet. Rolling Eyes

I'm glad your lot of Summayah's girls are settling in well Jooles.

I put Priscilla and Henrietta in with my two girls as soon as I got them home. I thought about giving them a separate area but decided that they'd all have to go in together at some point so that coupled with the fact I don't have a separate run and house at the moment made my decision for me.

There was a bit of pushing and shoving to begin with but that only lasted a day. When I went down to tuck the girls in on their first night they were all cuddled up together in a pile with three on the bottom in a line and Priscilla perching on top of them all!

The following morning they were sticking in their pairs but as far as I could see there was no pecking or arguments. On Tuesday I had a day off and spent a lot of time in the garden chatting to the girls and they were all mixing well.

Today I went down with a banana to give to them and all four rushed up to say hi and stood in a very neat line eating it!

All in all, Summayah's girls seemed to have settled in well and my two have been very nice. I'm quite proud of my two!

I'll post some pictures at the weekend.

LL xx

That's great news Lisa. I'm glad they settled in so well. I would have done the same if my long lost chicken house hadn't turned up in the nick of time. I'm sure, when I put them together they'll be fine. They seem to be 'chatting' normally through the wire now.
