My chickens seemed to be very sporty hens. knowing their love of tit bits I threw out a left over chip into the garden. They immediately formed a scrum around the chip when Goldie my Rhode Island Red picked up the chip and did a circuit of the garden at 'road runner' pace, screeching at full volume with the sheer delight of gaining possession of the chip. All 5 hens followed closely behind until the chip was dropped and another scrum was formed. This continued for approximately 10 mins before Blackie my flighty Andalusian Black obtained possession and scored a magnificent try and devoured the mangled chip! This got me wondering whether anyone has noticed any other hen games? I found that oven chips and pizza crusts are best.

| Grapes work well for rugby, and worms for chicks. I love the way one will grab a 'ball' and run for it followed by the rest while the rest of the treats lie until the first 'ball' is demolished! |

Bits of bourbon biscuits are great too as they luv 'em and get a bit of a suger rush for 5 mins afterwards and do everything at twice speed. Tis great.
Also tinned Lychees work extremely well when you want to cause an outrage.
I also threw out some rice crispies today and cracked up as they lept about flapping each time one exploded in their beaks.
We hardly ever watch telly now that we have chickens. Least not till its dark. |

If only they stood still when they find something special, none of the others would notice. But no, they run around and make it obvious |

I know! Why do they do that? And make noises too, so they all know there's something happening! |
