Well I've now added a couple of light sussex and what I thought was another wellsummer to my other two (boy & a girl wellsummer). I took 'honey' the oddish looking wellsummer from someone who said she was an adopted bird that hadnt fit into her flock, but she looks very young, thin and leggy - a bit gameish?? unfortunetly she still seems to be bottom of the pecking order. Do some birds always end up bottom?? or is it just an unfortunate coincidence?? Anyway they are all gorgeous so much so I'm looking at converting my garden shed which is adjacent to the run (reckon that as well as the ark, I could get at least another 10) |

Chickens addictive? Nah!
Ours have increased from our original 5 to currently 15, though we had as many as 26 at one point!
If we had more room there would definitely be a much larger flock.
Ours live in one third of a converted (large) shed. |

I've said it before ...
it's like a heroin addiction!!!
I started with 4 and have quickly expanded to 9 and fingers crossed will soon be adding another 11.
No point fighting it in my opinion!!! LOL |

I knew I was doomed when I got the incubator
Hatching chicks is even worse than keeping big ones |

It's SO painful isn't it!!?
I've even taken to patroling the garden and kicking leaves just in case they are seriously stashing them somewhere!
I got really giddy yesterday thinking I'd found an egg only to find it was a mushroom |

Me too!
It's getting embarrasing. I live in a small town and I am so embarrased buying eggs and every day my post office ask if I had any eggs yet!!!
I'm the laughing stock of the village!!! |

Whats even more embarresing is when youve got 12 adult birds, and youre only getting 1 egg a day |

Knobby - but you don't eat that many eggs you said
With just Willow laying even now we are still occasionally getting overrun with eggs - I only used to buy half a dozen a fortnight - that WAS before I ate them - but It's nice because I can sometimes give some away |
